Dr. Reed Maxwell, Ph.D., ABPP (Clinical) is a board-certified clinical psychologist licensed in New York, Kansas and Missouri and founder of Maxwell Psychological Services, LLC. He received his doctorate in 2017 from Binghamton University, a "public ivy" university located in upstate New York.  He completed postdoctoral training in New York City with the Personality Disorders Institute at Weill Cornell Medicine as a research coordinator and postdoctoral associate, as well as with the Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research at Columbia University as a psychoanalytic fellow. Dr. Maxwell also provided psychotherapy to NYC residents with a well-respected group practice near Central Park.

Dr. Maxwell has a dozen publications to his credit and has lectured at workshops and conferences around the nation. His research interests include personality psychopathology (e.g. borderline personality organization) and its treatment as well as dissociation, emotional dysregulation and hypnotic susceptibility. He is also an adjunct assistant professor of psychology at Kansas City University. He specializes in the treatment of personality disorders.

 

OVERVIEW: This Zoom webinar will provide a thorough overview of paranoid personality disorder and its most empirically-supported psychotherapies.

OBJECTIVES: After attending this Zoom webinar, the participant will be able to:

  • Give a detailed overview of clinically salient symptoms of paranoid personality disorder,
  • Provide a thorough introduction to empirically-supported psychotherapies for paranoid personality disorder,
  • Describe various clinical material demonstrating diagnosis and treatment in practice. 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
This continuing education Zoom webinar is designed for case managers, social workers, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and health care workers.  The community is also invited to attend. 

CONTINUING EDUCATION:                                                              
Mental Health America of the Heartland is a pre-approved provider for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) Provider Number 17-007. This continuing education provider is approved 3 hours for social workers and accepted for psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors. 

In order to receive continuing education credit and a certificate of attendance for this Zoom webinar, you will be required to participate in the Zoom webinar.  You will receive a Zoom invitation via email within a week of the webinar. Also you will need to take an online exam and complete an evaluation that will be sent in a separate email after the Zoom webinar. You must pass the test by 70%. The Zoom webinar will not be available by recording and viewing at any other time.
