Dr. Todd Bowman received his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2008, and has been practicing professional counseling since then. In 2011, he developed the Sexual Addiction Treatment Provider program at MidAmerica Nazarene University. Dr. Todd Bowman’s primary focus of counseling is assisting individuals with sexual addiction and attachment related concerns. He has specialized training in stress management, anxiety reduction, and other affective regulation methods, as well as psychological assessment. He operates from a relational-existential perspective, and regularly incorporates attachment, developmental, and neurobiological perspectives as appropriate. Dr. Bowman facilitates intensive workshops for marriage enrichment, family of origin reprocessing, sexual addiction recovery, betrayal trauma recovery, and more. He is an author, and presents nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including sexual health and sexually addictive behavior. Dr. Bowman is an avid soccer fan and enjoys a good game of golf.
OVERVIEW: This presentation will explore the origins of problematic sexual behavior by examining Todd Bowman's Neuroaffective model of sexual addiction. Specifically, Dr. Bowman will examine dynamics such as family of origin attachment experiences, neurobiology and co-morbid psychological diagnoses and he will discuss sexually addictive behavior and applicable approaches to treatment. Case vignettes and lecture material will be used as vehicles for disseminating content during the presentation.

This continuing education Zoom webinar is designed for case managers, social workers, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and health care workers. The community is also invited to attend.
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
Mental Health America of the Heartland is a pre-approved provider for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) Provider Number 17-007. This continuing education provider is approved 3.0 hours for social workers and accepted for psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors.
In order to receive continuing education credit and a certificate of attendance for this Zoom webinar, you will be required to participate in the Zoom webinar. You will receive a Zoom invitation via email within a week of webinar. Also you will need to take an online exam and complete an evaluation that will be sent in a separate email after the live Zoom webinar. You must pass the test by 70%. The Zoom webinar will not be available by recording and viewing at any other time.
