Zoom Webinar
Registration Fee: $25
AJ (Alicia Jones) Pittman, LSCSW, LCSW, LMAC, she/her/hers is a clinical social worker who has been a Somatic Experiencing practitioner for 10 years and regularly assists with training across the country and online. She views her therapeutic role as helping clients better understand their individual nervous systems and how their trauma histories have influenced their behavior patterns.
AJ has an undergraduate degree in psychology & MSW. AJ’s therapeutic approach supports working with client from the bottom up (giving attention to body sensation), rather than the top down (traditional talk therapy), to discover possible survival patterns. Focusing on client’s biology, rather than their biography creates a more in-depth perspective. She uses SE, EMDR and ACT while working with people who are managing mood disorders, trauma history, PTSD, substance use disorder and/or similar concerns with adults. She has a private practice and is the director of 42CARES, a behavioral health program for the Greater Kansas City (MO) Fire Department.
OVERVIEW: Discover some of the basics of Somatic Experiencing™ (SE) and how supporting clients from the bottom up can provide a refreshing approach to gaining insight while treating clients with a trauma history.
