Stacy Davis received a Bachelor of Arts in Life Science from Kansas State University, a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Kansas. She has over 20 years of social service program experience and 28 years of experience in design and delivery of professional and community seminars. Ms. Davis is currently the Director of Mental Health Promotion for the Mental Health America of the Heartland, where she works with the community in developing programs that increase awareness about mental health conditions. This includes providing training and education for professionals and the general public on the practice of good mental health strategies that improve and protect mental health.
OVERVIEW: When we think about cancer, heart disease, or diabetes, we don't wait years to treat them. We start before Stage 4-we begin with prevention. When people are in the first stage of those diseases and are beginning to show signs or symptoms like a persistent cough, high blood pressure, or high blood sugar, we try immediately to reverse these symptoms. Mental illness is a disease that can be addressed in this same manner. In this workshop, participants will learn about how to look after their mental health and develop a plan of action to address mental health issues.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This workshop is being offered for the community. Certificates of attendance are available upon request.
