Susan Crain Lewis, MSSW received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Women’s Studies from Allegheny College, and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. She possesses over 30 years of program development, management and implementation experience. Ms. Lewis is the President/CEO of the Mental Health America of the Heartland, responsible for oversight of all agency programs, finances, operations and personnel, and is the organization’s lead policy and systems advocate.
She has worked in the fields of domestic violence, intellectual and developmental disabilities, family planning, reproductive health and teen pregnancy prevention, mental health and child welfare, and with juvenile delinquents, at-risk youth, and persons with mental illness. She has served as a consultant to the Ohio and Indiana Child Welfare Training programs, assisting in training delivery and curriculum design, and in the incorporation of cultural competency in materials, workshops and the training program as a whole. She also possesses extensive background in outcome evaluation, community collaboration, and program, project and grants management and has personal and professional experience in cultural diversity and cultural diversity training.

OBJECTIVES: As a result of attending this webinar, the participant will be able to:

Identify causes and symptoms /behaviors of anxiety and depression,
Discuss "non-clinical" recovery/wellness, environmental interventions to reduce symptoms,
Suggest ways to build rapport and emphatically respond,
List community resources for crisis and for recovery and wellness.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
This continuing education zoom webinar is designed for nurses, healthcare workers, mental health professionals, psychologists, school counselors, social workers, case managers, and therapists. The community is welcome to attend.

CONTINUING EDUCATION:
Mental Health America of the Heartland is a pre-approved provider for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) Provider Number 17-007. This continuing education provider is approved 1.5 hours for social workers and accepted for psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors.

In order to receive continuing education credit and a certificate of attendance for this zoom webinar, you will be required to participate in the live zoom webinar. You will receive a zoom invitation via email within a week of webinar. Also you will need to take an online exam and complete an evaluation that will be sent in a separate email after the live zoom webinar. You must pass the test by 70%. The zoom webinar will not be available by recording and viewing at any other time.
