Riena (pronounced Ree-nah) is a matured ARMY brat who moved around many of her younger years to include completing kindergarten and first grade in Germany! Through her years of moving around she has met many people that have influenced her ability to work with diverse populations. Her passion for working with at-risk youth shines bright in her career and she comes to us today with over 13 years of post-graduate work. Over her career, Riena has been able to work in both KS and SC and in a variety of settings. Her career spans from child welfare social work where she not only wrote home studies, supported youth in foster care and the foster parents that cared for them to school-based therapy working with all grade levels before her transition into private practice in 2019. Riena now works at her own private practice in Derby, KS focusing on supporting children to young adults and their families. Riena had the honor of going to college on Ft. Riley with soldiers and other dependents where she graduated from Upper Iowa University with a dual major bachelor’s in psychology and human services. Riena earned her master’s degree in social work from Washburn University with a certificate in Victim and Survivor Services. Riena holds clinical social work licenses in both SC and KS as well as an ADHD- Certified Clinical Services Provider title. Riena is currently working on training toward being an ADHD Parent Coach. When not working or supporting social works toward clinical licensure, you can find her with her family. Riena loves to travel, be in nature, read, and enjoy a nice mug of hot tea.
