Barbara Lucas is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family therapist and owner of Sacred Counsel, LLC in Overland Park, KS. Barbara also implemented the counseling program for Dave’s Place Community Outreach Center in Kansas City, MO. Specializing in Trauma, Couple Distress, Identity Development, Cultural Diversity, and Abuse, Barbara endeavors to empower individuals, couples and families through their journeys towards personal, professional, relational, emotional, and spiritual growth. Barbara also has an extensive Criminal Justice background in the areas of Juvenile Justice and Adult Corrections where she focused on rehabilitation and community reintegration. She earned a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Friends University where she also serves as an Adjunct Professor and Program Supervisor. In addition, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Wichita State University. With a deep passion for interpersonal healing Barbara creates a sacred space for connecting dots, building relationships, and transforming lives.
Jesse Sieve is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist at Cerner's Healthe Clinic. He partner's with Cerner's multidisciplinary collaborative team that provides effective assessment and treatment of adults with diverse life needs and/or various mental health issues. Jesse maintains an active caseload, providing individual, and couple's therapies. Additionally, he serves as a resource person to Cerner in areas of expertise, including presenting classes, speaking engagements and internal service offering development.
OVERVIEW: A webinar designed to deepen the level of authentic cross-cultural engagement to effectively communicate between dominant and marginalized groups.

This continuing education zoom webinar is designed for case managers, social workers, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and health care workers.
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
Mental Health America of the Heartland is a pre-approved provider for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) Provider Number 17-007. This continuing education provider is approved 3.0 hours for social workers and accepted for psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors.
In order to receive continuing education credit and a certificate of attendance for this zoom webinar, you will be required to participate in the live zoom webinar. You will receive a zoom invitation via email within a week of webinar. Also you will need to take an online exam and complete an evaluation that will be sent in a separate email after the live zoom webinar. You must pass the test by 70%. The zoom webinar will not be available by recording and viewing at any other time.
