Zoom Webinar
Registration Fee: $45
In 2019, Anne Bethune, LSCSW, LCSW opened the first Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) practice in the region. In that capacity, she has worked with depression, anxiety, trauma, self-limiting beliefs, rigid personality types, end of life, grief and other presentations. She offers sliding services for veterans, law enforcement, first responders and public defenders. In 2022, she was hired to work in research for psychedelic medicine as a Lead Facilitator and Psychoeducation Provider. In those roles she has worked on Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials. That work is ongoing.
Prior to her private practice, Anne worked with child welfare and social service systems, the Jackson County Family Court, Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault and Chaired the Missouri Child and Abuse Review Board (E).
OVERVIEW: Psychedelic assisted therapy (PAT) is an emerging field and many clinicians have questions such as "What is (PAT)? Is it legal? What does it treat? Who can do it? How do I get trained? How do I work with clients who seek PAT if I am not trained?"
This webinar will give a historical perspective of psychedelic research for mental health issues and describe the evolving legislative landscape on state and federal levels. It will provide an outline of training and credentials required for those who do PAT. The role of the non-PAT therapist working with persons receiving PAT, and specific information provided on how to help their clients prepare for and integrate a PAT experience and continue healing in the context of an existing therapeutic relationship will be discussed.
