Dr. William Oakley is a staff psychologist at the Kansas City Center for Anxiety Treatment (KCCAT). He received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University in Illinois, where he worked with the Center for Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders at Alexian Brothers Hospital as part of his training. He completed an APA–accredited pre–doctoral internship at the Carson Center for Adults and Families in Westfield, MA, and conducted research at Brown University’s Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies, serving as a trainer in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and an intervention specialist on a federally–funded study. Dr. Oakley completed a year of Post-doctoral Fellowship with Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants of New York, focused on individual and group CBT and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), then completed an Advanced Postdoctoral year at KCCAT specializing in CBT/ERP. He is a member of and regular presenter at national organizations including the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), The TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors, and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, for which he was honored as part of the 2014 class of its Career Development Leadership Program. Dr. Oakley holds an appointment as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is also the President of OCD Kansas, the local IOCDF affiliate.
OVERVIEW: Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia (CBTI) is the psychological treatment of choice for insomnia. Research studies support the efficacy of CBTI, with many studies finding that it is as effective or more effective than sleep medications. This webinar will introduce the essential theory and techniques of CBTI along with a framework for implementing sleep education, and discussion on the incorporation of a sleep log during treatment.

This continuing education zoom webinar is designed for case managers, social workers, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and health care workers.
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
Mental Health America of the Heartland is a pre-approved provider for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) Provider Number 17-007. This continuing education provider is approved 3.0 hours for social workers and accepted for psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors.
In order to receive continuing education credit and a certificate of attendance for this zoom webinar, you will be required to participate in the live zoom webinar. You will receive a zoom invitation via email within a week of webinar. Also you will need to take an online exam and complete an evaluation that will be sent in a separate email after the live zoom webinar. You must pass the test by 70%. The zoom webinar will not be available by recording and viewing at any other time
