OVERVIEW: During this in-person workshop, the mental health disease states of anxiety disorder will be reviewed. In addition, common treatment approaches will be discussed, including medications, proper dosing, and management of side effects.  

OBJECTIVES: After attending this in-person workshop, the participant will be able to:

• Review the target symptoms for treatment in anxiety disorders,
• Discuss common medication treatment strategies for anxiety disorders,
• Recognize common side effects associated with medication commonly used for the treatment of anxiety disorders. 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
This continuing education workshop is designed for case managers, social workers, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and health care workers.  The community is also invited to attend. 

CONTINUING EDUCATION:                                                              
Mental Health America of the Heartland is a pre-approved provider for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) Provider Number 17-007. This continuing education provider is approved 3.0 hours for social workers and accepted for psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors. A certificate of attendance will be available at the end of the workshop.
